BEFORE YOU BOOK
Shade describes how much visible light passes through the glass. Ceramic technology addresses heat performance. Compare the film specifications as well as the look as a darker appearance does not tell you how well a film manages heat.
Start with the windows you want covered, then compare glare, privacy and heat performance. Your technician can explain available shades and the requirements that apply to each window on your vehicle.
While timing depends on your vehicle, the number of windows and whether old film needs removal, arrange for 3-4 hours. Ask your selected shop for a drop-off and pickup estimate when scheduling.
Installation time and the film’s drying time are different.
Keep windows closed for the period your installer specifies; most films require at least 3-4 days.
Use a soft cloth and an ammonia free glass cleaner.
Ask the shop to inspect the existing film and confirm removal costs before work starts.
Paint protection film adds a physical layer over the paint to help reduce damage from road debris and everyday abrasion. It cannot prevent every chip, dent or impact. Choose coverage based on where your vehicle takes the most wear.
Front-end coverage focuses on high wear and tear areas such as the bumper, hood and mirrors. Full-body coverage extends protection across more painted panels. for a complete peace of mind.
Self-healing films can recover from light marks in the film’s top layer. Deep cuts and damage through the film may need replacement. Existing paint damage needs assessment before installation.
The schedule depends on coverage and paint preparation. Plan your pickup with the installer and follow the care instructions for the specific film. Initial wash waiting periods vary; after curing, gentle washing and care around film edges matter.
Film type, sun exposure and maintenance affect service life. Check the written warranty for your selected product. Professional removal is recommended, especially on repainted or compromised panels. Please disclose paintwork history before installation or removal.
A vinyl color wrap primarily changes the finish and appearance. PPF is designed around paint protection; some PPF products also come in colors. Tell your shop whether your priority is a new look, impact protection or both.
Partial wraps can personalize selected panels without changing the whole vehicle. Discuss the coverage, finish and material options with the shop. For a full color change, confirm whether door jambs and other less-visible areas are included.
A wrap follows the surface beneath it, so it will not repair dents or failing paint. Repainted panels need assessment for adhesion and removal risk. Share the vehicle’s paint history and have surface problems addressed before wrapping.
Vehicle size, coverage and preparation determine the installation schedule. Longevity varies with the film, sun exposure, parking and care. Ask for the project timeline and product-specific warranty; horizontal panels may have different coverage from vertical panels.
Follow the film’s initial curing instructions. Hand wash gently with a compatible mild cleaner, rinse and dry carefully, and remove contaminants promptly. Avoid abrasive brushes and products that can change a matte or satin finish.
A ceramic coating bonds to a prepared surface to enhance gloss and help water and dirt release more easily. It makes maintenance easier, but the car still needs regular washing and prompt removal of bird droppings and other contamination.
No. A coating does not provide the same physical barrier as PPF and does not make paint scratch-proof or chip-proof. PPF and a compatible coating can complement each other when you want both impact protection and easier maintenance.
The surface needs thorough cleaning and preparation. If swirls or other defects bother you, discuss polishing or paint correction before coating, because the coating does not remove them. The amount of correction depends on the paint’s condition and your goals.
Application, initial curing and full curing are separate stages. Your installer should provide pickup timing and instructions for avoiding water or washing during the product’s curing period. Use the schedule for your actual coating rather than a universal waiting time.
Durability depends on the product, preparation, exposure and maintenance. Ask which coating is included, what its warranty covers and whether inspections or maintenance treatments are required. Routine washing remains part of caring for the finish.
Interior detailing focuses on cabin surfaces, carpets and upholstery. Exterior detailing focuses on washing, decontamination, wheels, trim and protection. Jet Black Tint offers interior, exterior and combined options; compare the itemized package before choosing.
Cleaning and protecting paint are different from correcting it. Polishing or paint correction can improve some surface defects, while deep scratches may need paint repair. Discuss correction as a separate scope of work instead of assuming it is included.
Point out the affected areas before booking so the team can assess the material, condition and cleaning needed. Some stains or odors can require additional treatment, and permanent damage may remain. Agree on the scope and expected result before work begins.
Timing depends on vehicle size, condition and the package. Remove personal belongings and tell the team about delicate surfaces or existing damage. Confirm drop-off, pickup and any upholstery drying time, especially if you need the vehicle that day.
Base the schedule on use and condition. An exterior detail every three to six months is a useful starting point; interiors may need attention more often with children, pets or rideshare use. Maintain a gentle wash routine between visits.
A technician needs to assess the damage’s size, depth, location and effect on visibility. Some chips can be repaired; larger damage or cracks near an edge may require replacement. Arrange an assessment before a small damaged area spreads.
Jet Black Glass lists windshield, side-window and rear-window replacement services. Provide your year, make, model and the damaged window so the team can check the correct part, features and availability at your selected location.
Vehicles with windshield-mounted driver-assistance cameras may require recalibration after replacement. Requirements depend on the vehicle manufacturer. Ask the team to confirm the required procedure, who will perform it and when the vehicle will be ready for use.
Follow the technician’s stated minimum drive-away time. It depends on the adhesive, installation conditions and vehicle; finishing the installation does not automatically mean it is ready to drive. Confirm the release time and aftercare instructions before leaving.
Jet Black Glass works with auto insurance providers, but coverage, deductibles and approvals depend on your policy. Have your vehicle details and insurance information ready, and confirm the glass specification, recalibration needs and your final responsibility before authorizing service.
